There're a group of marketing people behaving like protesters under my office window. They're marching and chanting to promote juice. They've been doing it for hours and it's making me grumpy. No more will I buy that brand of juice. It's all Odwalla for me from now on, evilly marketed Other Juice. grrr!
I usually keep my plug-ins off in my web browser. I don't have to wait while Flash banner ads load. I don't have to unexpectedly rush to mute the volume at work. When I'm ready to watch a vid or play a game, I just turn on plug-ins. It really makes my life easier.
I am continually frustrated by websites with Flash intros. Some sites are all Flash, for artsy purposes, and while that's a little annoying I'm okay with it. HTML can be frustratingly limiting. Flash can be very useful. I don't like the sites that force me to turn on my plugs-ins, sit through a Flash intro (sometimes with unpleasant music), and then lead me to a Flash-free interface for the bulk of the site that I don't need any plug-ins to view and navigate. Don't screw with me like that, web "designers"! If I have to load your Flash animation, I better get something good out of it. I'm not at informational websites for entertainment. If I want entertaining animation, I will go to an entertainment site. Argh!
(I refuse to link to an example of this because these sites are stinky and stupid and don't deserve more hits)
I've been pretty busy these past several weeks. Now that summer's over, everything's starting up again. Concerts, fairs, Sunday brunches, birthday parties, etc. Due to all this busy-ness, I didn't have time for LitP until yesterday. I'd been really missing it, but it just hadn't fit into my schedule.
There were, like, three or four different guys who asked if I'd been missing LitP because there's a new man in my life. So rude! Aside from the fact that I only know these people well enough to remember their names so that's really none of their business, why do they just jump to the conclusion that a man would be taking up my weekend? Not fall classes, or a new job, or my continuing poor health, or the fact that sunny Sept./Oct. weather isn't the sort of thing I should be dancing in, or any other number of things that might keep me out of the park on a Sunday.
Okay, I think I got the rant out of my system.
jeesh!
Also, my hip hurts cuz I haven't swing danced in so long. wah wah wah!
